Macintosh Web Browsers

Firefox:

Available for Mac OS X 10.2 or later

Mozilla Firefox is the preferred web browser for OS X.  This browser is free and far less susceptible to virus and spyware infections.

Install for Mac OS X 10.2 or later

Safari:

Available with Mac OS X 10.1 or later

Comes preinstalled with OS X.  To update Safari go to the Apple Menu in the top left corner and choose Software Update (also updates all other components of OS X.)

Microsoft Internet Explorer for Macintosh:

Available for Mac OS 9 or later

Microsoft IE for Mac is provided for compatibility with older web sites.  This browser is no longer maintained or supported for the Macintosh platform.

iCab:

Available for Mac OS 8.5 - 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.1 or later

iCab is currently the only web browser that is maintained for older Macintosh computers.
